Human memory is elusive – that was the assumption that the Polish master in the art of movie-making, Andrzej Wajda, worked under. He believed that the best way to capture time on a paper was using a pencil.|
Wajda Art is a unique project that not only involves creators in the movie industry, but also fans of the art of movie-making from around the world. The enterprise enables film lovers to support the project financially and to get unique collector’s items in return, or even an Andrzej Wajda themed trip that helps better learn the artist’s story and his way of thinking.
Publication of the “Drawings” and “Inspirations” albums is a unique event for those fascinated with the art of movie-making. Among the many drawings by Andrzej Wajda were selected those depicting his journeys (to Japan, for example), designs, sketches and drawings that were made during the artist’s creative process. Wajda had spent his whole life drawing, working on his films and stage plays. The “Drawings” contains three types of works – quick sketches of places and people he met when traveling, graphic designs related to staging, stage and film performances, as well as drawings and watercolor paintings – finished works of art.
Fans of the art of movie-making are getting a rare chance to analyze the artist’s creative process, see the profiles of film and stage characters transferred to a piece of paper by Wajda the very moment they came to life inside his head. That’s a unique experience.
The project will be financed with the fans’ support through crowdfunding websites. Everyone who participates will get a gift out of the pool of collector’s items, including an album of pictures and a film.
