If you could obtain the proper documentation while having an emotional support animal (ESA), then you would be offered some protection by the federal laws regarding housing. Both the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the Department of Housing (HUD) make sure that ESA owners are discriminated against for their necessity of an emotional support animal.
