The scientific process of paternity testing, also referred to as parentage testing or DNA testing, identifies a child's biological father. The baby's DNA profile must be compared to that of the purported father and, in certain situations, the mother. All of our cells are made of deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA, which is the genetic material. That is the material that contains our distinct genetic information. The lab personnel look at particular genetic markers or DNA alleles. Both parents provide these highly personalized genetic markers. Scientists can ascertain whether the tested guy is the child's biological father by comparing the child's genetic markers with those of the presumed father.
