The Effects of a Foul Strike on the referee If called a foul, the player should have to stop immediately.
A point is earned by pocketing any called ball into a designated pocket. If you pocket the wrong ball, it’s called a foul, which gives your opponent a turn. The player must then pocket a numbered ball, or cause the cue ball or any numbered ball to contact a rail.
